Mentoring

Please consider becoming a mentor.

CIS is currently seeking caring and dependable adults to serve as mentors for local K-12 students. Studies show that there are many benefits of mentoring which positively affect students, schools, and the community at-large. Children who participate in mentoring are:

  • More likely to have good school attendance.
  • More likely to continue their education beyond high school.
  • More likely to have a positive attitude toward school.
  • Less likely to use drugs and alcohol.
  • More likely to have improved social attitudes and relationships.
  • More likely to have better communication with their guardians.
