Coordinators Coordinators Participate in Family Involvement Training

Communities In Schools of Wayne County Site Coordinators completed a “Training of Trainers” workshop for “Family Involvement in Schools” conducted by Parent Leadership Academy facilitators Mary Lee Ewald and Joanne Handley from the Anderson Community Alliance to Promote Education (CAPE) Project the week of Aug 4-8 held in the Richmond High School Library. Linda Wallace from the Indiana Partnership Center conducted workshops on the 5 components of literacy called “Books on Board” with the elementary coordinators. David Murray, Murray and Associates and Liz Ferris, Regional Twenty-first Century Scholar Coordinator, presented information on college access resources with the secondary coordinators. Jane Lamb, RCS Literacy Coordinator participated in the “Books on Board” session. Twenty-first Scholars Parent Liaisons Kim Parsons-Hagerstown, and Valerie Healton-Centerville also attended the college access sessions.
