“Students come and go from every school. Communities In Schools can be especially helpful for those students who enter a classroom midyear. Often when our families move, it is out of necessity.
Recently, we welcomed a family of four who relocated to Fairview from a very rural school in another county. None of the four siblings had school supplies. A few were lacking adequate shoes and clothing. Communities In Schools was able to provide the needed school supplies and other basic needs. Families and teachers can feel less stress knowing that site coordinators are in our schools to ease these transitions.
All the children are now settled into their classrooms. Each is making friends and getting down to the business of learning- without having to worry about basic needs!”
