“I have helped several students fill out job applications throughout the year, but one recent story comes to mind. One of my students applied for a job as a hostess. She is a senior and this would be her first job. She was very nervous when they set up the interview, so I spoke to her about it and gave her some tips to help calm her nerves. The day before we did a practice interview in my office where I asked her questions and helped her think through possible responses. I believe it really helped her as she seemed much more at ease thereafter. A few days later, I was thrilled to hear that she got the job! She was so excited and I was so happy for her.”
