The Power of the Right Connection ...
The Site Coordinator took the phone call at 8:00 am in the morning the week before Thanksgiving. The tearful mother on the other end of the line wouldn't be bringing her two young daughters to school because they were bunking in with various friends and family in Lynn and couldn't afford the gas to make the trip. What they desperately needed, a homeless shelter, didn't exist in Wayne COunty. Several phone calls put the Site Coordinaor in touch with Rock Solid Ministries, who told her about an apartment owned by St. Mary's Catholic Church. Phone number in hand, the mom called the person in charge and the family is now living in the apartment and working with Community Partners for Child Safety to find a permanent address. Sometimes all it takes is a connection between someone in need and the resource to meet it!
