Results from the newly released school-level evaluation confirm that, compared to other dropout prevention programs listed in the Department of Education’s best practice website, the “What Works Clearinghouse,”
CIS is:One of a small number of dropout prevention organizations with scientifically-based evidence of effectivenessOf these, one of a handful proven to decrease dropout rates, andThe only organization proven to increase graduation rates
Specifically, when outcomes of CIS schools that have high fidelity to the CIS Model were compared
with similar schools:3.6% fewer students dropped out4.8% more students graduated on time with a regular diploma5.3% and 6% more students reached proficiency in fourth and eighth-grade math, respectively2% and 4.9% more students reached proficiency in fourth and eighth-grade reading, respectively
As a teacher, I try to help the students set goals and be a positive role-model. I appreciate other adults who are willing to help me get the child from “Point A to Point B”. I do not feel alone in my efforts. It takes a village to raise a child and I’m glad to have the mentors in my community of resources. Thanks again for everything that you do.
