Charlie was having a rough day at Fairview Elementary School. He was acting up in a class, throwing fits, arguing with his classmates, and refusing to listen to his teacher. When his mom was called in, she said she wanted to take him back to his previous school where they "knew how to deal with him." CIS Site Coordinator Josh Jurgens suggested Charlie and his mom join him for lunch in his office. Five minutes into the lunch, Charlie had calmed down. His mother went home, Charlie returned to class and finished the school day with no more issues. A full-blown crisis was averted simply because someone was there.
