School Partnerships: Richmond Charles Elementary

Matt had a low commitment to school and put forth little effort. After meeting with his CIS site coordinator, Beth Ann Stein, he told her that he wanted to improve his effort grade in school. He had an 80% in the 2nd trimester and wanted to get it up to 90% during the 5th grading period. He improved to a 95%! When Beth Ann asked his teacher about Matt's progress, she responded quite positively! Here are his teacher’s words:

Thank you for inquiring about Matt's effort grade. Matt continues to do well. This third trimester I feel has been his best. He will be receiving a 95% (Excellent) effort grade for the last trimester. I am very proud of this young man and everything he has accomplished this year!

We have a family in our school that we have all become attached to. Beth Ann has such a connection with them and has helped them through some very hard times. The children no longer live with their mother, but Beth Ann has continued to support them during this very difficult transition. She has also been a great lifeline for the family members who now care for the children.
