A Sense of Relief
Through the grapevine, CIS learned that one of Centerville’s seniors was in dire need of a new pair of shoes. When the Site Coordinator met with the student, sure enough his shoes were badly worn and way too small. The student was hesitant and obviously embarrassed by the poor quality of his shoes and his need. But when he got a look at the brand new pair of shoes that had been provided by the Striderite partnership with Reid Hospital, all of his former hesitation disappeared. Added to his joy was a huge sense of relief for his mother: One less thing she would have to figure out how to buy on the family’s limited budget.
